Slowly, ever so slowly, the Marines are getting their version of the Haditha story into the MSM. Yes, the story is disturbing, just as most of war is disturbing. But their story doesn’t sound like a massacre, and it doesn’t sound like they tried to cover up the events in that terrible place. There may be more revelations in the future, but I think it is fair for us to question the accounts in the initial reports. The rush to condemn the Marines, and in a larger sense, our presence in Iraq, has again been revealed as the reflection of bias so prevalent in the media. If only the media was as thorough, patient, and willing to address all truths, no matter how painful, as our military.
